Science Matters @ CPL: Citizen Scientists and Chandler's City Nature Challenge Online

Kick off the 2021 Science Matters @ CPL virtual science cafe series with a discussion on how to be a citizen scientist and why data collected by the community is important! The Library is partnering with the Environmental Education Center to host our speaker, Naturalist Jeny Davis of the Desert Botanical Garden. Jeny will also highlight the Metro Phoenix EcoFlora project at Desert Botanical Garden. During this program, you can learn about your opportunity to be a citizen scientist in the upcoming City Nature Challenge, where the City of Chandler encourages you to help us compete with other cities to collect information on the nature around us!

Jeny Davis is the EcoFlora Coordinator at Desert Botanical Garden. Her studies in horticulture and sustainable ecosystems provided the tools to share her enthusiasm for urban nature and conservation. She encourages others to learn about nearby nature where they live and become neighborhood naturalists.

Science Matters@CPL is Science Cafe, which includes a short presentation and discussion opportunity with scientists and local experts about ideas and the latest research in science topics that matter to you.
