Geared toward college students and recent graduates, this comprehensive career boot camp will get you ready for the job market!  Based on interactions with hundreds of college students, interns and recent graduates, career coach Nadia Whiteside will address the most common challenges that emerging professionals face in job search, as well guide you through developing skills and a portfolio to take you from personal brand development to networking, through the application process and mastering a job interview. This is a five week series.
Registration required.
*Registration for this workshop series includes a free 49-page workbook.

May 26, Session 1: What is Your Brand?
In this introductory session, you will learn how to develop your personal branding statement and apply it to your social media profile, resume and utilize it in networking conversations and phone screens. We will also discuss the importance of Linked In and how to create and/or enhance your profile.

June 2, Session 2: Networking and the Informational Interview
Networking is the key to a successful job search!  In this session, we will focus on techniques to build your network, engage professionals in your field to assist with job search and connect with decision-makers.

June 9, Session 3: Effective Communication: Storytelling, Conversation and Writing
Storytelling is one of the most effective ways to convey your effectiveness as a professional. In this session, we will learn how to craft 1-minute “CAR” stories for networking and interviews, as well as how to improve upon your conversation and writing skills for networking and interviews.

June 16, Session 4: Understanding the Application Process
Only 20% of online applications are ever read by a human. That’s because robots, or applicant tracking systems (ATS) are screening your application documents for keywords and formatting.  This session will focus on understanding ATS and the best online tools to help get your application and resume seen by a hiring manager.

June 23, Session 5: Mastering the Interview
Half seminar and half mock interview session, we will conclude the boot camp series with some hands-on practice in interviewing as well as tackle tough interview questions and negotiation techniques. Bring your resume and a copy of a desired job posting/description.
