America in Times of Conflict: Creating Peace From Conflict

America in Times of Conflict: Creating Peace From Conflict In-Person

The Chandler Public Library concludes the America in Times of Conflict series on Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. – noon at the Chandler Center for the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Avenue with a free program, Creating Peace From Conflict. This two hour program features theatrical and music performances, veterans’ stories, and audience participation in exploring the way in which individuals who have experienced war have looked to create inner peace, as well as to make a difference in the lives of others. Many of the performers are military veterans who graduated from ASU or are attending the University. In addition, images from the Veterans Vision Project will be on display. Photographer Devin Mitchell created this 2014 photo documentary featuring military service members in order to capture the human side of military service and to allow them to express themselves by creating their own statement in the images. This program is in partnership with the ASU Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement; ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts- School of Music Therapy; ASU School of Film, Dance, and Theatre; ASU School of International Letters and Cultures (Classics); and Veterans For Peace.  Tickets are not required.
