A Universe of Stories : All about Stars! In-Person

Join us at Hamilton Library as we kick-off our Summer Reading Challenge by having a Star Party!

Doors will open at 7pm.

All ages are welcome for this event and to sign-up for the Summer Reading Challenge.  

"Dr. T-Rex" of Chandler will be performing his "Science of a Star" program from 7:15-8:15pm. 

Attendees are invited to visit a NASA Selfie Station projected on a big screen in our new Early Literacy Space, stop by booths from local colleges as well as, the City of Chandler's Environmental Education Center, which will be offering space-related crafts and providing information on their STEAM events. 

Starting at nightfall (about 8:30pm) in front of the library, Stargazers can check out spectacular views of planets, double stars, nebulae, star  clusters and more courtesy of the Hamilton High School Astronomy Club (telescopes are provided).   

KJZZ's Soundbite Truck will be on site from 8-10pm with Bree Burkett, reporter for AZ Central hosting a podcast inside and recording attendees. Be sure to sign up when you arrive. Recording sessions are limited, and are filled on a first come, first served basis. On stage, Nick Shelby  (former library assistant for CPL) and the Cosmic American Jukebox will be performing from the Soundbite Truck for all to enjoy.

In case of inclement weather - we will carry on with all parts of our event except the outside star viewing allowing us to keep the same event  time of 7-10pm.
