Our Stories- Arizona Songbirds: The Life Stories of Marty Robbins and Linda Ronstadt
Writer Steve Renzi explores the lives and careers of two popular music giants with Arizona roots. Marty Robbins, a little bit country, and Linda Ronstadt, a little bit rock-n-roll, were blessed with beautiful and unforgettable singing voices and produced hundreds of hits. Both of them grew up in Arizona and put Arizona musical influences on our national cultural map. Robbins helped to solidify and popularize Western music, while Ronstadt was an early female rocker who helped bring back the Big Band standards. Program in partnership with the Arizona Humanities.
