America in Times of Conflict: In My Own Words- Memories of World War II
Discover the personal impact of World War II through actor Mike Traylor's dramatic reading of letters and oral history remembrances of Chandler-area veterans. These local stories will be followed by the 1943 film, "Guadalcanal Diary," which portrayed the everyday experiences and individual stories of the U.S. Marines who fought in the 1942 Battle of Guadalcanal. This program is sponsored by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
